Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Crossings Connect, a private talent network operated by Crossings Ministries (“Crossings,” “we,” “our”). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Crossings Connect.

The platform

Crossings Connect is a gated, invitation-only network. It is not a public job board. Access is limited to current and former Crossings summer missionary staff and to organizations Crossings has reviewed and approved as ministry partners. Crossings may grant or deny access at its discretion, and may remove any account that violates these terms or that Crossings determines is not a good fit for the community.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you are 18 or older. Staff accounts are verified through a Crossings-issued invite link or by admin approval. Employer accounts require a completed partner application and Crossings approval before access is granted.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Use a strong, unique password. Notify us immediately at connect@gocrossings.org if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Crossings Connect honestly and in the spirit it was built — to help Crossings staff find good work and to help trusted partners find people of character. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or deceptive information in your profile or any job post.
• Use the platform to scrape, harvest, or collect information about other users in bulk.
• Attempt to identify anonymous staff profiles through inference or combination of information.
• Contact a staff member through outside channels based on information you learned through this platform, before that staff member has accepted a connection with you.
• Circumvent any privacy or visibility control a staff member has set.
• Use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate employment-related connections.
• Interfere with the operation of the platform or attempt to access data you are not authorized to see.

Staff profiles and visibility

Staff members control their own visibility and connection decisions. No staff member is required to accept a connection request. Declining a request is private — you may not attempt to discover, infer, or pressure a response. The platform is designed to protect confidentiality, and attempts to work around those protections violate these terms and may result in immediate removal.

Partner employer conduct

Approved partner organizations agree to use Crossings Connect only for legitimate hiring purposes within the scope of their partnership. Connection requests must include a genuine, specific message about the opportunity. Mass or generic outreach is not permitted. Partner status is renewed annually at Crossings' discretion; approval may be revoked at any time if a partner violates these terms or the spirit of the community.

BFOQ and religious hiring

Some positions may carry a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) grounded in a partner organization’s religious doctrine. Partners who attach a BFOQ to a job post attest that the requirement is genuine and role-specific. Crossings reviews all BFOQ designations before approving them. This feature exists to support legitimate religious hiring practices and may not be used for any other purpose.

Content you provide

You retain ownership of the content you submit to Crossings Connect — your profile, resume, and any other materials. By submitting content, you grant Crossings a limited license to store and display it to other users as directed by your visibility settings. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile and any resume or portfolio materials you upload.

Our content

The Crossings Connect platform, its design, copy, and code are owned by Crossings Ministries. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without written permission.

Privacy

Your use of Crossings Connect is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

Limitation of liability

Crossings Connect is provided as-is. Crossings Ministries makes no guarantees that the platform will always be available, error-free, or that any particular employment outcome will result from using it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crossings Ministries is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

Termination

You may deactivate your account at any time. Crossings may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, that are inactive for an extended period, or for any other reason at Crossings' discretion. Upon termination, your profile is hidden from the platform. You may request full deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

Changes

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that notice constitutes acceptance.
