Privacy Policy
Crossings Connect is operated by Crossings Ministries. Effective June 18, 2026.
Crossings Connect is a private talent network operated by Crossings Ministries (“Crossings,” “we,” “our”). It exists to help current and former Crossings staff find work, and to help partner organizations we trust find them. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you control. We wrote it in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us.
Who can use Crossings Connect
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Staff accounts are verified by invite link or by Crossings admin approval. Employer accounts belong to organizations Crossings has reviewed and approved as ministry partners. We may decline or remove any account at our discretion.
What we collect
Everything in your profile is information you choose to give us:
- Account basics: your name, email address, and password (passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see them).
- Profile details: photo, bio, seasons and roles at Crossings, education, skills, job interests, and location preferences.
- Resume content, including answers you give in the resume builder questionnaire.
- Endorsements written about you by Crossings leaders, at your request.
- Platform activity: connection requests, jobs you save or apply to, and profile shares you initiate.
- Technical basics: log and security data needed to operate and protect the service. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell ads.
How we use your information
We use your information to run the service: to show your profile to approved partners according to your visibility settings, to deliver connection requests and job alerts you ask for, to keep the platform safe, and to communicate with you about your account.
If you use the resume builder, your questionnaire answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to draft suggested resume wording. Suggestions are always editable and never final until you approve them. Under Anthropic's API terms, this data is not used to train AI models.
Who sees what
This is the heart of the platform, so we want it to be unmistakably clear.
- You control your visibility. By default your profile appears in the talent browse to approved partner employers. You can choose to appear anonymously (no name shown), or stay out of the browse entirely.
- Approved partner employers see your browse card: your name (unless you've chosen to appear anonymously), a role headline, coarsened tenure, areas served, skills, field of study (never the school), career direction, teams served, and a region (never a town). They do not see your contact information, full work history, or resume.
- Your contact information, full work history, and resume are revealed to an employer only when you accept that employer's connection request, or when you share your own profile with them. Declining a request is silent — the employer is never told you declined.
- Crossings admins can see full profiles and platform activity in order to operate the service.
What we never do
We never sell your information. We never trade access to your information for donations, bookings, or anything else — partner approval is a relationship decision, not a transaction. We never publish your information outside the platform without your consent.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Crossings Connect: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and Anthropic (resume drafting, described above). Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Data is stored in the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. You can deactivate your account at any time, which immediately hides your profile from everyone except admins. You can also request full deletion: we will remove your profile, resume files, and contact information within 30 days. We may keep minimal administrative records (such as the audit log of account and partner approvals) for accountability. Endorsement letters you exported are yours to keep and use.
Security
Access to your information is restricted at the database level, encrypted in transit and at rest, and limited to Crossings admins with a reason to see it. No system is perfect; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you promptly. To report a security concern, contact us at the address below.
Your choices
You control your visibility setting, your profile content, and every connection decision. You can unsubscribe from job alerts at any time. Account-related notices (like security or approval emails) are part of operating the service and continue while your account exists.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will post the update and email account holders before it takes effect. Questions, deletion requests, or concerns: connect@gocrossings.org, or write to Crossings Ministries, Louisville, Kentucky.
